Does your child . . .

  • Over react to and avoid loud noises (e.g. sirens), certain textures or touch?
  • Have difficulty walking steps?
  • Seem to trip over painted lines?
  • Have difficulty holding a crayon or pencil?
  • Have difficulty using scissors?
  • Have difficulty identifying different shapes?
  • Avoid playground equipment?
  • Have difficulty with fasteners or getting dressed?
  • Have difficulty organizing behavior?

. . . then maybe your child has difficulty
           with sensory integration.

What exactly is Sensory Integration?
Sensory Integration is the organization of sensation for use. We use information that we receive from the world around us to react. For most of us, our central nervous system easily filters out unimportant information (i.e. background noise) and allows us to organize our behavior in response to the important information. When children can't screen out or accurately interpret sensations, life may be very frustrating.
